Since July of 1999 Coyle has been swimming virtually daily in the sea at the Forty Foot in Sandy Cove and documenting his swims with a waterproof camera. Initially his intentions were to record the sea, but quickly the process took on a life and momentum of its own ‘beginning a dialogue between my life and art that is still ongoing,’ It is out of this dialogue that this exhibition of photographs, drawings, notebooks and objects, has its origins.
