If you’re in Dublin this weekend be sure to catch Geraldine O’Neill speaking at the art, environment and ecology symposium taking place in Trinity College. A number of distinguished contemporary artists will each give a presentation about how their work expresses dimensions of human relationships with the physical environment in the current epoch, which has been described as the Anthropocene in recognition of how evidence of human activity is apparent in the planet’s geological layers, and of the threat to the ecosystem on which the species depends. The talks, illustrated with relevant examples of each artist’s work, will be followed by opportunities for questions and discussion.

Keynote: John Gerrard
Artist contributors:
Vivienne Dick : Clare Langan : Siobhan McDonald : Deirdre O’Mahony : Geraldine O’Neill : Garrett Phelan
and a viewing of Vera Klute: The Grand Scheme
introduction and conclusion: Yvonne Scott
